How encryption works
Your key never leaves your device.
When you sign up, ReNotes derives an encryption key from your password using PBKDF2 at 100,000 iterations. That key is never stored anywhere. Not on your device, not on our servers.Your notes are encrypted locally before they sync. The cloud only ever sees ciphertext. Every session requires your password to unlock, one extra step, one real guarantee.
